Why Ski Europe?

Thoughts from your vacation leader: Gary Hazan

Gary, your trip leader atop the Swiss Alps

The 2010 Ski and See Europe vacation to Sauze d'Oulx, Italy will be the 14th year that I will be leading a group to Europe. Even after thirteen years and over 400+ skiers, I am continually amazed by what European ski resorts have to offer our group. I hope I convey why I am so confident that this will be one of the best vacations that you will take and will leave you wondering why the U.S. resorts cannot live up to the European ski experience.

I consider this much more than a ski trip; rather it's a European vacation that includes great skiing. If you are a beginner skier, the beauty of the Alpine Mountains will overwhelm you and if you are an advanced skier the trails will go beyond your wildest dreams. And that's just during the day! The nightlife is never-ending with great beer, wine and dancing on tables in your ski boots...European style!

This vacation has successfully run for thirteen years primarily by word of mouth and nearly fifty percent of the group are people that have been on past trips! That is a testament to how amazing the European skiing experience is, and how great this vacation will be for the first timers!

In addition to skiing you will have the opportunity to do some great sight-seeing. We wiill take a day off of skiing and head to the Olympic city of Torino, Italy for the day. Additionally, you have the option to extend your vacation for four days to one of the world's most exciting cities. This year we are headed to Cairo, Egypt! What better way to end your vacation than to meander through this ancient city and see one of the great wonders of the world, the Giza Pyramids!

Here are my top 10 favorite things about skiing in Europe

1. The group's always friendly and a blast!
2. Partying is unstoppable... unlike anything you have ever experienced!
3. The villages are amazing... cobbelstoned streets & picturesque Alpine backdrops!
4. Gourmet food… even the food on the mountain is excellent for a reasonable price!
5. The skiing is great for all levels!
6. The sightseeing opportunities can't be beat!
7. The ski areas are enormous but not too intimidating!
8. The Alps are simply beautiful!
9. You can totally make fun of your friends who skied in Utah and thought they had a good time!
10. The vacation is a great value when you compare that includes flights, hotel, breakfasts and dinners!

I am very confident that there is nowhere in North America that will offer you all that this vacation will offer you! I truly believe that if you haven't skied in Europe then you really haven't experienced everything a ski vacation can offer you…regardless of what level skier you are! You just need to be a fun-loving person that enjoys traveling and being part of a great group of people.

I hope you and your ski buddies can join us... This year promises to be another amazing European vacation!
