Sauze d'Oulx is a stunningly beautiful resort that has more than two hundred years of history. It just oozes Alpine charm with its beautiful car-free village center, traditional European chalets and decorative hand-painted hotels. Sauze is one of Austria's highest resorts and is situated at the base of two famous glaciers which virtually guarantee excellent snow conditions and beautiful views everywhere.

Sauze d'Oulx is an extremely lively ski village. With more than 40 bars and nightclubs this ski village really rocks. In the mid-afternoon this village begins to jump! Après ski (happy hour) begins at 3:30pm and the fun continues on through the wee hours of the morning. You will find fun everywhere and party with people from all over the world! For those that prefer a more laid back experience then rest assured there are plenty of wine bars, cappuccino houses, and spas that will suit your taste.

The ski area offers something for every level of skier. It has many tantalizing runs that descend some 400 km on-and off-trail. Don't be intimidated if you are a less experienced skier: be excited to know that this vast ski area offers a ton of beginner and intermediate skiing just outside your door! If you want to improve your skiing then take lessons or hire a world-class guide who speaks fluent English. If you’re an experienced skier then no doubt you’ll find the trail you’ve been looking for here. There are simply more runs than you can ski in one week.



Torino, Italy Day Trip

You will have the opportunity to rest your ski legs and spend the day touring beautiful Torino, Italy! Torino is rich in both history and culture that dates back hundreds of years. The host of the 2006 Winter Olympics, Turin (Torino in Italian) is located in the Piedmont region of Northern Italy. A wonderful tourist destination all year long, Turin is the home of the Shroud of Turin and is known as the "Gateway to the Alps." Other popular attractions include the Museo Egizio, known for its collection of Egyptian art, and visiting the nearby castles and national parks.

The city has a very attractive Baroque town centre is cosmopolitan and gracious. The city is full of noble equestrian statues of Savoy princes and elegant arcaded streets for all-weather shopping and strolling, with an atmosphere that is calmer than most Italian cities and is no doubt a great place to spend the day sight-seeing.

We are staying at the 4 star Grand Hotel Besson, which has been owned and operated by the same family for almost a century! It is a charming 4 star hotel that has a 5 star location. It is rated as the best hotel in all of Sauz d'Oulx! The hotel is in the center of the village and in easy walking distance to the main lifts. The nightlife and village center is just outside the hotel's door as well!

You will wake up in the morning to enjoy the vistas of the Italian Alps!

The Grand Hotel Besson is well-known for its excellent Italian cuisine. Each day, the hotel's gourmet kitchen, will serve you a hearty skiers buffet breakfast, and a well deserved four-course dinner that will more than satisfy you after a long day of skiing!
